Janett Jensen

Biography

Janett Jensen was born in Borås, where she started dancing at the age of three. She trained as a dance teacher from 1977 to 1980 at the University College of Dance in Stockholm. She then worked as a dance teacher for around 20 years, teaching jazz dance, tap, children's dance and stretching at institutions including Balettakademien, Kulturama, Dansakademien, the University College of Dance and the Swedish Ballet School.

As a dancer she performed in numerous shows at the well-known Stockholm nightclubs ”Alexandra”, ”Bacci Wapen” and ”Make Up”. Janett also choreographed two musicals in Norrköping and danced with Ulf Lundell in 1980. After an injury in 1992 she was forced to take a new direction, and in 1995 she was hired as A&R at the music publisher Warner/Chappell Music Scandinavia, where she worked with a large number of songwriters over 16 years.

In the spring of 2012 Janett founded the Costa Tropical Music Camp — a camp for songwriters and artists in southern Spain. Songwriters from Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, France, the USA, Spain, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Romania and Greece have taken part so far.
